Xenia was engaged to build a new childcare Centre on the roof of Coles at Lutwyche City Shopping Centre. The centre was designed for 117 children plus staff. Scope included adapting an existing fit-out space for a new childcare entrance, activity rooms, kitchens, and amenities.
A new playground was built on an existing roof with various finishes including softball, decking and grass. The playground had carefully designed structures installed on it including large sails, playground equipment, mister hoops and sand pits. To date, Xenia have been able to overcome many unique challenges involved when working on a roof of a live shopping centre, with most materials needing to be craned onto the roof during construction and still achieving all key stakeholder deliverables
